Fleet
Add what you rent out. Claude suggests exactly what to photograph on each item, so condition checks are consistent no matter who's working the counter.
Bookings
Upcoming → Out → Returned → Inspected → Invoiced. Each rental moves on its own as photos come in.
Submitted through your customer booking page (Account → Customer booking page). Accepting re-checks availability and creates a real booking; declining just dismisses the request.
Draft a price for a customer, send it, and convert it to a booking once they accept — no re-entering any details.
Today
What's due out or back today and tomorrow — your morning checklist.
Customers
Every customer's rental history, grouped and collapsed — search to narrow it down, or click a name to expand it.
Invoices
Generated once a return is inspected and closed out. Connect QuickBooks or Xero from your account menu to sync for real.
Revenue by month
By equipment — revenue & utilization
Account
Your account, business, subscription, billing and integrations.
Account
Your personal details — kept separate from your business name, which is what the rest of Yardstick and your customers see.
Business
Your business name is shown throughout Yardstick in place of your personal name.
Subscription
Your plan, usage this period, and upgrade/downgrade options.
Billing
Manage your payment method, view past invoices, or cancel — handled securely by Stripe.
Accounting integrations
Push invoices straight to your books once a rental is closed out.
Activity log
A running record of what's happened on your account — useful for spotting issues and for dispute records.
Team
Invite staff and set what they can do. Owners manage billing, integrations and the team; managers run day-to-day operations and reports; staff handle bookings and inspections.
Online booking & storefront
Your own booking page where customers browse equipment you mark public, pick dates, and book — reusing the exact same availability and pricing rules as the rest of Yardstick. Every item stays hidden from this page until you turn it on individually in Fleet → Edit.
Locations
Optional — set these up if you operate from more than one yard or pickup point. Equipment and bookings can then reference a specific location, and customers can choose one when they book online.
Online payments
Connect your own Stripe account to collect real rental payments and deposits from your online booking page. Money goes straight to your Stripe account, never through Yardstick — this is completely separate from your Yardstick subscription billing.
Damage waiver
An optional (or required) fee renters can elect that reduces their liability for accidental damage — this is a damage waiver, not insurance, and is separate from the security deposit above.
Rental rules & hours
Sets the default pickup/return times new bookings get when nobody picks a specific time, the hours customers and staff can choose from, how much turnaround time equipment needs between rentals, and the optional late-return fee.
Rental agreements
The contract text customers sign at pickup or through a secure link. Use the built-in default as-is, edit it, or add category-specific templates — once a rental's agreement has been signed or sent, it keeps the exact wording it had at that moment, even if you edit the template afterward.
Identity verification
Real, Stripe-hosted ID verification for renters — no Stripe account needed on their end. Yardstick only ever stores the verification status and the verified name; the ID photo and selfie stay on Stripe's own systems. Off by default for every business.
